Jetta replacement

Not really the point I was making but ok.

I doubt you will only get that amount for the jetta in a few years, even with very high mileage. Just go look at the type of cars you can buy for R50k even now.

I've taken a worst case scenario. Doesn't matter the value, depreciation will be much higher on any newer car.

The best trade-in offer I received for my 2011 Jetta VI 1.6tdi comfortline, manual, 190000km is R110000. The other offers range from R75000 to R95000.
I have kind of decided to keep my current car, but for a very good deal I might still sell it.

I can get the previously mentioned 2014 Jetta VI 1.6tdi comfortline, manual, 60000km for R200000, which means I am paying R90000 for the "same" car with 130000km less mileage and 3 years newer. Service plan up to 90000km.

If his budget allows and he wants a new vehicle & has Jetta love it should be Passat/Passat CC or go home.

I had a look at the Passat and CC but it is quite more expensive than the Jetta.

That actually sounds like a decent deal
