JOHANNESBURG - The City of Johannesburg says it believes the billing crisis which has plagued residents for over five years has now been resolved and the number of incorrect bills sent out to customers has decreased to 1,5 percent.

The city says it struggled to adapt to a new software introduced on the billing system from 2010.

Today officials released the city’s annual report for the past financial year.

Councillor Geoffrey Makhubo said the city increased its revenue collection from R19 billion rand in the 2013/2014 financial year, to R42 billion last year.

What happened to the case 'bout the "hacker" (MD4E) who changed the URL to view someone else's bill or something like that?

Wonder how much that Satan's Accounting Package installation cost them ?

Good news that revenue collection is up, now let's just hope the fekkers spend a bit more of our money on us rather than expensive cars , parties and "consultants"

1.5% inaccurate bills STILL being sent out?

And they call the problem resolved? The is still many thousands of accounts every month that are wrong.

...not to mention the apparent fact that their "Smart Metres" have not been read for the past 4 or 5 months in certain areas.

Yeah, I have a new smart meter, but the meter reader said that they can't read those by any automated means, so they still come knocking.

Amusing how EOH has some of the best paid employees as well
