+1, but first some others will be paid for "find" the "cheap" alternative. Then there will be some more people paid to "test" it.

you know I sometimes think the fskers rig the things to fail on a regular basis

One excuse the city always had was "old infrastructure". (never mind that they never maintained the infrastructure but that a different argument). Anyway, not so long ago a whole new road was constructed running east to west through the middle of Sunninghill and the part of rivonia road running to the prison was upgraded. New roads = new robots ... but unfortunately if my gay neighbour's miniature daschund takes a p1$$ on any pavement in the vacinity, the robots are all down for 3 days
