Jhb International Mail Centre - Awaiting parcels

Hi, Does anyone know how I can get my parcels from the JIMC. They receive all the parcels from the airport, but nothing is going out due to the strike. Can I go and collect, and if so, who can I speak to?
Im really desperate as my clients are waiting for their orders.

I tried to collect my packages on Tuesday. The security guys wouldn't let me in - they say due to the strike there is no one there that can help me.

I was at customs yesterday to find out what happens to the parcels when they arrive and they said there are staff at the JIMC to receive parcels, just that nothing goes out. I have emailed and phoned to try and find out if I can collect, but no answer. My clients are starting to cancel cause I cant get my stuff

strike is over but still the same story, they don't answer calls or emails.

My parcels have started to leave customs now. I think its just a waiting game.
I also think the earlier in the strike your parcel was sent, the longer you will wait.
I dont think they are working on first in first out.

My parcel was ordered late November. It got out of customs a few days ago

mine was ordered the beginning of December , so should probably wait a few days.
I might be in the area later so maybe i'll pop in there....i just don't think they will be very useful.

Going there won't help. It has probably already been loaded into a container for distribution to your post office, at which point it just becomes too much effort for them to help you. I have only once managed to intercept a parcel there, but the timing just happened to be perfect.

Does anyone have the physical address for JIMC & can you actually collect parcels from there? I get multiple addresses when googling it.

It is off Jones Rd in Bokburg. Yes you can collect there if it has been detained by customs. Always Take an invoice and ID with you just in case. Be prepared for it to take over an hour as they need to manually sort through the mail to find it.

I attached a pic of the entrance on Jones Rd. The red sign board is for the international mail centre. Drive right through to the far end of the road. You will need to sign in at the gate before you can drive in.
