What is a "default" IT engineer? I assume the term "engineer" doesn't mean candidates with an actual engineering degree?

Oh now anything remotely technical can be called an engineering profession to make it sound more desirable.

Pick up the garbage? You are a garbage engineer.

Plumber? You are a sanitation engineer.

Woodworker? You are an aged fibrous materials engineer.

Everything is an engineer nowadays.

Companies like to issue fancy titles to their employees. Something as simple as "Account Manager" is actually "Salesman". I used to be a "Pre-Sales Engineer", then a "Channel Manager" and now a "Pre-Sales Architect". Although I am earning more now, I'd say my title as architect is a step-down from engineer.

Would outsourcing be an option for you? We have qualified technicians that would be available, either per hour or on site, we do work together with other IT companies when they require onsite technicians that represent your company if need be. If you are interested please send through a PM and we can chat

Ditto. Eventually I became a JOAT. Jack of all Trades. ;)
