For kiddies Xmas shopping this year , China mall it is:D
Need to go see what is curently available
Been to the one by Hillfox which is small and not much variety on offer
Would any of you recommend those china malls around crown mines area behind Edcon ?

The one off Main Reef Rd is the "original" China Mall and the biggest. Also, many of the shops are similar to each other but I would still suggest a visit there.
Please be patient and calm because the parking and traffic in the area is quite bad on a weekend.
I have recently noticed a lot of Indian foreigners owning more and more of the stores there and some of those Chinese folk are just rude when you try barter with them. Try not go during lunch time because they cook and eat all their weird things in their stores and some stores have lots of tiny little cockroaches inside the boxes of the products you may want to buy.

But still, give it a try. I got lekker cheap Christmas lights from there last year.

Centurion has a large China Mall on the corners of Old Jhb and Panorama.
Lots of shops selling the same type of stuff, so it is worth taking your time and going from shop to shop.

There's a china mall on the side of Hillfox in Roodepoort.
Also one on the corner of Jan Smuts and Republic in Randburg.

Rivonia square shopping centre is now a China Mall

In Bruma Lake there is a China mall next to the McDonalds where the flea market used to be

The old Highgate on the west rand is also a China Mall now.

I've been to the one close to Gold Reef (I'm assuming that is the edcon one). Anyway, it is big and full of crap. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

That said I never looked at the kiddy toys.

Ja I think I was at the same one. Got some nice craft supplies but otherwise the place is pretty dodgy...

The one in Centurion has quite nice toys.

What I have bought a few of are knockoff Lego sets.

Bought one the other day, full aircraft carrier, over 1m long, with like a gazillion bits to it.
Lego price, almost 3k.
China mall price, R599

We did all our shopping last year at the china mall in Zambezi drive.

It's pretty big, decent variety and a fun day out.

How does it compare to real Lego?
