ok, so i have heard that my isp has signed up onto jinx but it awaiting his username and password, so i would just like to know the following....

1) how long should it take him to get the username and password?

2) what differance will this make for me as a consumer?

sorry if i couldnt give much detail about the jinx network, i did find it the other day, but i forgot where i found it, so ijust googled it and found this link

You won't see much of a difference.
Maybe your path to local sites will be a little shorter, but its nothing that you need to be concerned about really.

ok, so whats the point of him even signing onto jinx in the first place?

The advantage is that traffic going between local ISP's will travel over Jinx (if the other ISP has a presence at Jinx too).
Instead of going over an international link, or a direct peering link with that other ISP.

But for the end user, you'll barely notice it.

The costs of providing an Internet service to you go down and latency to certain websites may be less. But as daffy said - you probably won't notice any HUGE difference unless you know were to look.
