Discription
Revolution” -- Our entire way of life depends on electricity. So what would happen if it just stopped working? Well, one day, like a switch turned off, the world is suddenly thrust back into the dark ages. Planes fall from the sky, hospitals shut down, and communication is impossible. And without any modern technology, who can tell us why? Now, 15 years later, life is back to what it once was long before the industrial revolution: families living in quiet cul-de-sacs, and when the sun goes down lanterns and candles are lit. Life is slower and sweeter. Or is it? On the fringes of small farming communities, danger lurks. And a young woman’s life is dramatically changed when a local militia arrives and kills her father, who mysteriously – and unbeknownst to her – had something to do with the blackout. This brutal encounter sets her and two unlikely companions off on a daring coming-of-age journey to find answers about the past in the hopes of reclaiming the future. From director Jon Favreau (“Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2”) and the fertile imaginations of J.J. Abrams (“Lost,” “Person Of Interest”) and Eric Kripke (“Supernatural”), comes a surprising “what if” action-adventure series, where an unlikely hero will lead the world out of the dark. Literally. The series stars Billy Burke (“The Twilight Saga”), Tracy Spiridakos (“Being Human”), Anna Lise Phillips (“Terra Nova”), Zak Orth (“Romeo + Juliet“), Graham Rogers (“Memphis Beat”), J.D. Pardo (“A Cinderella Story”), Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad”), David Lyons (“The Cape”), Maria Howell (“The Blind Side”), Tim Guinee (“Iron Man”) and Andrea Roth (“Rescue Me”). Kripke, Abrams, Favreau and Bryan Burk (“Lost,” “Star Trek”) serve as executive producers. “Revolution” is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Bad Robot Productions, Kripke Enterprises and Warner Bros. Television. The pilot was directed by Favreau.

Yea, I mean wtf Alcatraz?

JJ my bru, when your shows get cancelled could you atleast write a summary of who where what and why and then its done. Perhaps this is why they never progress. Im sure they are great ideas in your head, unfortunately the rest of the world doesnt have the time nor patience.

This is mostly Eric Kripke's project more than J.J Abrams.

J.J. Abrams’ “Lost” and Eric Kripke’s “Supernatural” were once competitors on Thursday night prime time. Now the geek gurus behind the popular series are joining forces for a new show, “Revolution.” Written by Kripke, the “Revolution” pilot is being produced by Abrams’ company, Bad Robot, and likely will begin shooting in early spring with Kripke and Abrams serving as executive producers, along with Bryan Burk. Perhaps not surprisingly, the secretive Abrams is staying tight-lipped about the concept of “Revolution” (all we know is it’s an “epic adventure thriller”), but he opened up about working with the creator of “Supernatural” when Hero Complex’s Emily Rome caught up with him backstage at the Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards.

E.R.: What made you interested in collaborating with Kripke?

J.J.A.: I’ve been a fan of “Supernatural.” I like him a lot. He’s a really good guy, and he came to us with an idea that was undeniably good. It was such a great premise for a series that it was just that feeling of the misery that you’d feel if you had a chance to be part of that and didn’t take advantage of it. I’m really looking forward to that show. He’s so obviously the real deal, and we’re just really lucky and honored that he wanted to collaborate with us on it.

E.R.: Shows like “Supernatural” and “Lost” have very devoted fans. What do you think about the potential to bring those two groups together with this show?

J.J.A.: I think [“Revolution”] needs to be as good as the premise promises, and if we do that, I’m confident that we will find an audience. I don’t think that you can ever rely on an audience that happened to like “Lost” or happened to like “Supernatural.” I would be thrilled if those audiences found this show too, but right now instead of thinking about who the audience is, we’re just trying to figure out the best possible way to produce the pilot, make it as good as it can be. A happy byproduct of just thinking about how to tell the story the best way possible is that you get a shot at an audience, and I’m crossing my fingers that we’ll have a substantial one.

E.R.: What about Kripke’s writing captivated you?
J.J.A.: What I love about his writing is it’s alive, it’s visual. He writes things that become images in your mind as you’re reading it, but he also is deeply concerned about character, back story, the emotional lives of the people he’s writing. It’s something I really appreciate. Again, I look forward to working with him in any capacity. Being a producer on his show is something I’m thrilled to do. And offer any suggestions. Though he certainly doesn’t need my suggestions to make a great show.

If this is going to try and force emotions out of the viewers for frankly dis likable people as in Tera Nova, it's going to fail badly too.

When you wish a badly rendered dino would eat main actors just to not have to suffer through another scene watching them try to act like a family and knowing how good the story can be if they would just shut up and do something other than have a Dawsons Creek moment every five minutes, so you keep watching was torture.

Just watched the whole clip, jip the script is paint by numbers in the first two minutes, I predict by episode three the story will be told and they fall into the same old basic routine of weekly bad guy or weekly secret conspiracy storyline that never goes anywhere.

Hollywood is out of ideas, this story was told already, anyone remember Jericho?
oh and Jericho might return soon BECAUSE HOLLYWOOD IS OUT OF IDEAS.

Lol, I predict his latest show will be cancelled :D Man, almost all of his shows suck!!! LOST SUCKS! ALCATRAZ SUCKS!

We will have to wait and see if the characters have any depth(breaking bad for instance, or even lost), because without that it'll be cancelled at the end of the first season.

Lost had characters we cared about, and that's why we loved it.

On a side note, i'm so glad Giancarlo Esposito is getting a major role again. Hopefully the writing can match his brilliance, because his work in breaking bad was some of the best character stuff i have seen in years. Seeing the role he got in once upon a time was quite saddening.

This show already doesn't make sense. They say all forms of energy ceases to exist, yet I see those people moving and fires burning and horses galloping. What, if not energy, is making this happen? Looks a lot like Falling Skies.

Electrons in copper wire and magnetism must have disappeared, it's TV magic.

Otherwise some bright spark would have wound a coil and stuck a rotating magnet next to it just for ****s and giggles and shot the whole story to pieces by becoming a god, to the suddenly 3000 years regressed American populous, then again, it would take half a day without twitbookfacetube to get them to that intelligence level.

So I guess it is plausible, maybe it's just that they couldn't google how to make a generator.

I bet the polar magnetic field flip will feature in this story, no one could figure out that north is south and south is now north, because alphabet hard no like like wordy thingies. :)

/makes way past all the moaning and whinging

Does anyone know the song/track at the end of the trailer? It's familiar but I can't place it :/

Maybe the spark just went out of every ones lives :)

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what they come up as explanation.
I'll give it a go anyway since I love Sci-Fi, but I don't think this will make two seasons, maybe three if they throw enough money and pretty girls at the cameras.

The only reason I watched TN was Allison Miller

, she reminds me of Faye Grant

from the original (and good) V.

I think part of the reason I couldn't live myself into the story was I couldn't convince myself that an Irish father and Indian mother would make seemingly one full blooded Irish son, one mixed daughter and then a full blooded Indian little girl again, very selective genes in that pool, but hey it was the future, all they needed was Will Smiths kid and TN would still be on I guess. :)

They should stop concentrating on pleasing everyone in these shows and spend some time on the story a dino soap wasn't a good idea.

What I wanted to say before memories of Faye Grant fighting aliens distracted me, they had a good idea for a story and then messed it up by committee, this new show looks like more of the same, too many cooks, there's something to be said for having a dictatorial artist at the helm of a show that wont compromise on his vision.

It has the making of a good show... but I agree about the kid romance stuff. That killed Tera Nova and Falling skies that both had lots of potential.

IMHO Tera nova was the most original idea to come out since forever. I will be sore forever because they wasted it so badly.

This does look good, I was getting really excited but then the idea reminded me of flash forward :/

I really like post apocalyptic mystery/adventure type stuff, please let this be good !
