JMPD: No KFC? We take blankets too

As temperatures in Johannesburg drop below freezing, the city's homeless are accusing the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) of confiscating their blankets in the early hours of the morning.

JMPD of course denies such actions... why would the homeless make this up?

I don't know these street guys are hard to trust. There was a group of them living in Hillbrow and some good Samaritans donated nice mattresses and blankets to them. Promptly sold and proceeds gone to glue, gambling, etc.
