Ok so this mate of mine decided to get a JNC MP3 Player that Macro had on special.

Only hassle is he can only put about 6 songs on it then it says memory full. Its a 512 so theres no ways 6 songs is gona be enuff. We played around with it and it seems theres a .wav file on it thats like 80 minutes long. but the mp3 player does not seem to have a delete option for it. and the .wav file does not come up when u access the player via pc. according to the pc the whole thing is all free space.

Reading the manual it comes with which may as well have been written in greek has been of no help.

any ideas. i'e run out of them. thanks...
 
Maybe format it?

Also, if the you are not getting a 512MB player (no matter the reason), take it back and get a new one.
 
We came close to formatting it lol. Will formatting it not delete all the player's programmes etc?

Don't think so because when you connect the mp3 player to the PC, it just sees the storage drive, so it should be safe. It acts just like a normal flash drive really - the player itself just reads from the flash drive.
 
OK cool. Will try formatting it. And if that dont work it goes back. Thanks for the input guys.
 
Yeah just format it. The 'programs' will be on ROM chips most likely

Ok he came further than me! mine is giving a formatting error when I download from the PC is there somebody that can assist Im using Window's media player

The manual. I have tried to read it, but eventually I just ripped it up and threw it in the rubbish bin. I'm trying to get this CD that I've put on it to play in order, but it seems to have an automatic scrambler "feature". It's very annoying. :eek: If anyone has managed to disable this and get things playing in order, please let me know.

Massive bump

Had a similar problem with mine. Unmount. Unplug. Slide the hold switch into the unlocked position. Plug in again. Deleting now ok.

btw. The wav file is from the built in voice recorder.

This thread is pretty stale, but they are still shipping these things (now in 2GB) so I figure it may come in useful to somebody (Since this ranked so well on google).

I've just bought a JNC MP3 7 series (2 gig) but can't get it to communicate with my computer (Windows XP). The computer just doesn't recognise it. Also can't take it back as I live in Namibia. The manual doesn't help, neither does the website. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Try different USB ports on your computer, try it on different computers. Is it switched on when you tried? You sure the USB cable is a working one?
