Joburg Pride...anyone going?

So...a friend have convinced me to go for the first time. Not the march....but to Zoo lake I believe is the venue. Seeing that there are some mo's and double adaptors (juussst pulling your leg) on mybb....are you guys going? Been before? Is is lekker? Is parking a bitch with all the lesbians taking all the space with their trucks and tractors?????

Any of the straighties here going? Apparently lots of straight people go for fun?
 
I live a few blocks from the zoo lake and went to pride last year out of curiosity. Fantastic vibe with loads of colorful charecters.

Can't comment on the parking as I didn't drive.

Try to get there as the march is returning to see the floats.

I'm as straight as a line and felt very welcome.

It's something everyone should experience.

Awww...see NeckMonster...there will be little gay kids for your little one to play with. I would just keep a eye on this one though...being the child of two lesbians it might fck up your child or at the very least give your child a blue eye! :p
 
That Joburg Pride banner looks familiar. I've seen it on tv used by some other company selling multivitamins or something similar but I can't remember what it is.
 
Centrum? Think they use the spectrum colours. I think the LGBT Flag colours are unique in their hues and order or appearance though? I might be mistaken though.

Tried to go to a food market near the parade one year not knowing it was on. Got caught in a traffic jam for about an hour watching it go past. Never again thanks. Not my thing at all.

Fair enough. I have been living in Joburg now for about 8 or 9 years and have never been to a Pride. This will be my first one. Not really my thing....but my friend instisted that I come this year...so will go for a hour or so...check it out. If I enjoy it...will stay longer. Trying to convince my straight friend to come with me. Dont really wanna go alone :-(
 
Hasn't JHB pride become something of a celebrity event now? I heard Fresh talking about his experiences there, I know he went with some of this DJ buddies a while back in a dress and everything:). The straight people go because it's somehow cool.
