John Smit's new book gives more insight in the dynamics of the team, policies and a few other stuff

Smit relates how Luke Watson had a "cancerous" effect on members of the national team, the inside story behind the notorious Kamp Staaldraad, and what he terms the rugby "treachery" of former Sharks prop Ollie le Roux.

I know it is related to sport, but as it is more about politics and relationships I posted it here.

Atleast the book is before the scandel. I think this book will step on a few people's toes. Think there is allot more to come of this.

It surprises me that professional players are releasing their autobiographies( if you can call it that) while still playing the game. Surely you dish the dirt after you hang up your boots. Not to mention you'll give the complete story......

Also think players should rather release books at the end of the careers, but then again you get guys like Wayne fathead Rooney getting books out at such an early age, why not take the opportunity to make some dosh, Smit's been through alot, so Im sure his got lots to tell. Im especially intruiged to find out more on the Ollie saga, he was my fav player back in the day, cant believe he was such a twat, the fat SOB!

What about Gerrard, Carra and Torres AMG ;)

Of course he is going to praise Div - it'd be suicidal if he criticised him in the book since he (Smit) is still playing rugby.

Not sure i understand why every Tom, Dick and Harry in sport need to bring out a book

Are you saying John Smit is just another Tom, Dick and Harry? He's the most capped international captain of all time and he's got a world cup medal.

He's played under many different coaches and played with numerous great (and not so great) rugby players.

I would love to hear his story.

Gerrard could write a few stories about pub crawling in Liverpool. Not for the feint hearted either.

He will have some free time around March next year to knock up a quick book, since Liverpool are likey to be out of all cup competitions by Feb.
