Joomla: how to process information from a form?

Hello community,

for quite sometime i have been wondering how i can make a registration form where somebody can register and the information gets processed and put into a table and updated everytime a person registers something. Is this possible with joomla? I believe you can do it but you need a .php file and that? any ideas? would be appreciated ^^

And how is this done? what codes does the .php file contain? and where in my directory do i put it? sorry about all the questions x_x

You can use a plugin which allows you to create custom fields like RSForm / Proforms; you can embed a 3rd party iframe like wufoo/google forms in your article content field, or you can create a custom script and let the Jumi plugin handle the routing.
