Jooste sacked as Steinhoff CEO

Somebody incompetent was responsible for the high profile recruitment at the time and they dropped the ball, before we knew it Jooste was recruited elsewhere.

This is the real reason why the main experiment called Maimane was kicked out of DA. There is no place for such freebies in DA.

I'm kinda OK with them only nailing Jooste. At least then I can get back on my high horse and proclaim that non-government-connected fraud gets prosecuted and the real problem is with government corruption.
I do miss my high horse. :crying:
So, in theory, who are the other people you would like to be prosecuted so that you step down from your high horse?

I mean, X can get prosecuted and then it turns out later that X was the tiny fish so it will be nice to have some big names.

Zuma has got away so unfortunately that name is out.

EVERYONE.
When there is a decent amount of evidence (or where investigations can lead to evidence), test it in court.
Ace, Ramaphosa, Mbeki, Guptas, that mofo who screwed up the train order, Malema and politicians connected to VBS, bunch of Eskom people, municipal managers etc
Some of those I mention probably don't have lots of evidence yet, others may already have been prosecuted.

So, EVERYONE has to be arrested to balance asset forfeiture of Jooste? Interesting.

Really weird how some here are against Jooste losing his stuff, he's no better than a common thief, many South Africans lost large amounts of money because of him. He should be in jail, and his whole family should be destitute.

South Africans lost 3x more wealth from the Steinhoff incident than the entirety of state capture according to the documentary.

While the media tends to focus more on politicians committing fraud- corporations stealing from South Africans seems to far outweigh governmental corruption.

Source? Or are you making figures up as you go along?

Even if it is true from a monetary perspective, the cost of government graft has a far greater impact because it’s damaging basic infrastructure like electricity and trains, which directly effects the livelihoods of everyone and to a far greater degree. But if true it’s nevertheless quite an interesting point.

Didn't Dominee Mmusi emphasise that it was just a smear campaign? LOL

Perhaps Dominee Mmusi was captured by Steinhoff 5G?

Jooste actually made the donation to the DA.

Nope. Not being made up. The percentage was given in the Showmax Steinheist documentary.
I watched the documentary last week but somehow missed that. Do you perhaps have a timestamp and episode number for that section?

Same, I also missed it, could well be there but it seems like something I would have noticed. It might be true but I find it hard to believe that one company could surpass all the sh*t at SAA, Eskom, and every other state institution.

Totally different South Africans in terms of wealth category. Had I lost money due to investment in Steinhoff (due to shares crashing or otherwise), that is just how it is and I am not as affected as the people who would be due to government corruption.

At least SA got some value out of him.

A non-experimental DA person would never accept such a donation. This is why Mmusi was kicked out.

Jooste should have slipped the cadres a few bucks. He would have been protected ...
