I was driving on William Nicole Drive heading South. The JMPD Police had a roadblock and signaled me to pull over from the right lane. As I pulled over, the car behind did not stop and crashed into the back of my car. I'm so angry at these guys.

Worst thing is they did not even arrest the other driver who had no license. I had to beg them to escort us to the nearest SAP station.

Even though this is so incredibly pathetic from them I can honestly say that I'm not all that surprised.

I dont believe you can arrest a person for not having a licence.

There is no need to be escorted to a SAPS station. You take the other guys details and report the case yourself. Or metro could have done a report for you at the scene of the accident.

The other driver had no details with him (other than description of the car) and Metro did not want to do a report. Metro insisted I go to Police Station to open a case.

Not surprsed as he will have no fixed address no nothing that he does not want us to know. Now Did he have any bombs in his boot perhaps? LOL

Metro not wanting to do the report - that is pathetic. Maybe you can sue them for the value of the damages.

:erm: Makes sense why the Metro decided to pass them into SAPS. :D

There were 5 guys in the other car. We had to teach them English before getting a signed affidavit with address, license and asylum permit details.

Why is the accident JMPD's fault and not the driver behind you?

Because JMPD are suppose to control the traffic during a roadblock. Normally I seen signs like "Police Ahead, Slow Down". Instead, they jumped and flashed a torch at me to pull over from the right lane, across the road without any of them controlling the traffic. I could have easily been hit by another car approaching on the left lane.

You just want to blame your accident on someone you don't like. All the blame lies on the driver behind you who did not pay attention and did not stop in time ;) And of all the road blocks I've been stopped at, I've NEVER seen a POLICE AHEAD, SLOW DOWN sign.

dudes, one thing I've seen with traffic officers standing in or alongside the road pulling people over...DON"T STOP!I've seen on numerous occasions where they try to pull someone over and the taxi or bus or car for that matter just keeps on driving...and all htey do is throw their hands up in the air and try and stop the next car, I suggest you try and do that!

Try and pay attention when you drive - just now you're going to rear end someone too.

You're supposed to check for cars in other lanes when you cross lanes and behind you when you brake.

I don't pull over. I suppose that I could be polite to the traffis. Last one to stop me asked me if I had a hands free kit not that I was even using my phone. That was after he thought I'd have a conversation with him through my passenger window. The conversation went along quite quickly when he realised that standing in the road was not the wisest decision he had made that day. I have absolutely no sympathy whatsoever for someone who thinks that their actions have no consequences and the consequence is being hit by a truck.

By all means set up your road blocks - but do it where it is safe to do so.

Having said that - many years ago a traffis did stop the traffic on the M1 South when I had a puncture so that I could move to the emergency lane and he flashed his blue light while I changed the wheel.
