In her position at Motorola South Africa, Judi Nwokedi drives the implementation of strategies on black economic empowerment. Prior to joining Motorola in May 2005, Nwokedi was the MD of public broadcasting services at the SABC. In that position, she was responsible for the public broadcasting offerings of SABC1 and SABC2, as well as 15 public service radio stations, including SAfm and Ukhozi FM. In 2004, she was nominated one of South Africa’s top 10 women in media.
Prior to this, Nwokedi conceptualised and implemented loveLife, the South African multimedia and national HIV/Aids prevention programme. Nwokedi is chairperson of a consortium, Footprint Pty – who will be bidding for the Pay TV subscription license. She is also heavily involved in the social movement working on the eradication of the use of child soldiers in war on the African Continent. She is a director of Trans Africa Investment Holdings with interests primarily in the energy sector, insurance and media.
