I must say I did not expect him to get any prison time, so this is encouraging, although 5 years seems far too low. in terms of our law, he would have to serve 2.5 years before being eligible for parole, but I suspect he will run through the appeal options and will in a few months be released on time served. I also have serious doubts as to whether people like Shaik or Zuma were ever in prison for more than a photo op anyway. I highly doubt they ever actually spent a night in prison.

So he’s basically free while appealing. I thought courts were supposed to consider public danger in cases like this, but this seems to prove the opposite. I mean he's literally in court for being a danger to the public. Make that make sense.

He’ll probably never see a jail cell anyway. This will be dragged out for years. The judges are clowns.
