July Console Sales Figures - US

If you have been following the news recently you would have seen many analysts predicting that the PS3 would finally outsell the Xbox 360 in July...

Well the results are in and.... they nearly did it...

Just missing by 11 000 units....

Obviously this is a huge improvement from before but it does need to be mentioned that since July the 360 has had a price cut and has easily the very best AAA game line up for the rest of the year...

This must be hurting Sony now..

Monthly....

In total figures the 360 is beating the PS3 by about 6-7 million....

I'm seriously surprised. I thought the PS3 was going to take July.

September should be very interesting - Price cut, Madden, Bioshock and HDMI console. . .

I dont get this whole monthly sales thing. Surely the XBOX being released almost a year earlier would saturate its client base which explains figure drops?

The PS2 sold over 100 million in it's lifetime.

The Xbox has sold 10.5 - 11.5

There are 90 million potential gamers who can still buy one plus a couple of billion other potential clients...

The market is far from saturated.
