Junior web/mobile developer (PHP/JavaScript)

A new potential startup is looking for an enthusiastic individual that would like to gain extensive experience in web and mobile development. Some elementary programming skills are ideal but a thirst to learn with a programming aptitude is more crucial. No degree required.

Please note there will be 2 short technical assessments involved to gauge your understanding of programming using FP and/or OOP methodologies.

Any experience in our tech stack is beneficial:
• Laravel
• PHP
• MySQL
• RESTful APIs
• JavaScript
• jQuery
• ReactJS
• Redux
• HTML
• CSS
• FP/OOP
• Git (using Git is extremely important as all our projects are VC'd)
• Apache Cordova
• NPM
• Gulp
• Agile (there are no SMs, POs, BAs, QAs so we only use some Agile/JIT practices)

A school leaver with some programming experience would be suited to this position.

Location: Johannesburg East Rand

This is a part-time role with full-time potential. It is not an internship. Working remotely can be an option but as we use Trello (simplified Agile) for our SDLC tasks would need to be met to maintain our output (sprints).

I have never worked in C but from what I quickly read; yes it could have functional principles. However I would imagine some C developers would use it in a procedural way so taking on something like ReactJS would still pose a significant learning curve.

The candidate will be paid so in principle this is not an internship but full-time employment can not be offered just yet. Degree'd or experienced developers would not be suited.

No it's not just a tetrahydrocannabinol induced idea as we already have clients (with a few potential projects lined-up for February) but as deals are sealed no full-time position can be offered just yet
