Junk Food - First time in 4 months

Had a long day at work. Forgot to take chicken out of the freezer. Wife is tired and sick. I have to start job 2 in a couple of hours. Why not get some KFC?

The chicken was soaked in oil. Tastes nothing like chicken. Sloshy oil with a batter of sorts around it.
The chips tasted like bread soaked in water with a bit of spice on.
The so called mash and gravy looked like spuitpoep en tasted like, what I would imagine, a cup of dogfood in a litre of water.

The double cheese wrap was like a pancake used to explain a blackhole. Empty and without meaning.

I now feel like sticking my finger down my throat and empty it all back into the box and go ask for a refund.



No thanks. My life of eating junkfood takeaways are over.

Can't believe I used to eat it at least once a week.

i rode past my local Steers 2 weeks ago and saw it was open so i popped in all excited at lunch time and ordered some big ass meal and stuff
got back to office, burger tasted undercooked and tomato was still cold
chips were ok i guess
when i drank that cream soda i was like WTF is this **** ?

im put off at the moment, not for life, but i am avoiding junk food places for now

I had KFC once.

I've also had McD once, when I was 11. I'd not recommend either.

Why not just soak the frozen chicken in some hot water ... it will be ready to use as soon as the rest of the ingredients are prepped

Its not so much the 'oily'. More like oil came from an infected wound and left to stand for a week to dip in some boiled chicken.

Last tried KFC since 2010, wasn't good then, doesn't look like anything has changed.

Only fast food I do is BK with bacon added, Rocomamas, and pizza from a proper, wood fire using place around the corner, both once every ~2-3 weeks.

I don't consider that Junk Food. Even Nandos I won't classify as Fast Food or Junk Food, but haven't had it since before lockdown. BK... yuck.

Miss nice pizza from the Midlands.
