Basically bought a new sim the other day, a couple days later im getting someone elses facebook messages and OTP.... so would it be safe to assume that I shouldnt use this number for anything or wtf is going on here....!

Well its more like status updates "Benkosi Antonio updated his status..." and " Tandeka you have 1 Poke etc...." also when putting in the number @ Facebook it gives up someone else's name with the exact same num.. :,(

So basically the indian dude at the shop selling pre registered sims.... how do you know which messages will go to which number...........

more likely a number that 'expired' in the past and now got re-allocated to you when it activated, but FB still sending messages since back in the day to that number. Happens often these days on new numbers

Doubt he is selling pre-used, most likely its just a recycled number. Quite annoying.
