I just got ADSL and I am running it through a Telkom 100WR ADSL router but I have no idea of what the router's IP is, how do I find out what the router's IP is.

I've only worked on normal broadband routers with the standard 192.168.0.1 IP but it doesnt work for this router.I tried netscan to find out but it needs a address range to search in and I am stumped.

The MAC address is printed on the bottom but I dont know how to connect through it.

Any advice on how to get the router's IP will be appreciated.

Edit: Pressed submit before entering the full title, damn

Creed, did you get that Router free without signing a contract? I shall apply for ADSL tomorrow, just hope they're not gonna impose anything on me.

p gpt installed after two weeks ... without contract, and router and installation cost about R900

I'm going with Telkom self install - month to month basis and still get free router. Screw the 24 month contracts! I'm going with Cybersmart 3Gb @ R125.00 p/month - they're the cheapest I could find.

EDIT: I've only just applied now - was told it'll be in by the 10th and dsl line up and running before the 15th cos that is when Telscum stop with the self-install, free router special! The Telkom guy was actually helpful and effecient - lets see if the rest of the process will be as well :D

Creed - you went for a 24 month contract for the free modem?

My condolances. The modem is only woth a few hundred bucks - if they now change pricing structure your going to be screwed for the next 2 years paying the same old price.
