Screen cover. My screen cracked without falling. I think the phone is prone to it.

Do you have a databundle? Do you have wifi. You will go through data very quickly, especially the first month.

Get a wifi router for home will save you a wack of cash if u only install apps from home

A decent case or pouch for it - the Gorilla Glass is resilient, but this just helps with those little bumps. I've got a rubber case from CaseMate - my old S1 is lying in a drawer with a cracked screen from landing on its edge.

Juicedefender. A definite must to manage your battery life.
AndroSensor - A great app if you are a geek and want to see what your phone can really do.
I used to say 3G Watchdog, but JellyBean has some decent data management.
But definitely a data bundle.

tap the hardware menu button bottom right... select wifi... and turn off power saving.
