Sorry for the delayed thanks. Work and a machine upgrade kept me from returning until now. I'm all fixed up, running ZoneAlarm and everything is good.
I really do appreciate everyone's assistance here. I must confess, to my embarassment, that I reckon it was spyware/malware. I was too busy ranting at the time to really want to consider that. I was so annoyed with iBurst that I was happy to forego rationality and blame them for a little extra. I see they have totally ignored my cancellation request. Oh well, I suppose I'll keep using them for a while anyway.
Is it just me though, or is the connection to international sites very bad today on 3G/iBurst? I find it timing out and/or crawling when accessing overseas sites. My work colleagues were experiencing similar issues all day.
