Some chick phoned telling me she wants to send me some promotional stuff and then proceeds to give me my address

Anyway, I told her there is no one at home they should sent it to my work address and proceeded to give it to her.

...mmm...

Was some weird company can't even recall the name. I suspect the data they have on my must have been shared by a company I have purchased from online before. Now I need to try and find out who gave out those details.

So basically, a telemarketer phone you.

Should've told her it's not your address and put the phone down.

10 bucks says it some life insurance company... I got some braai tool set, cooler bag and other *** from them. Then hey call and want to sell me life insurance haha... thanks for the gifts but no thanks...

I had one of these before, they sent me a nice fancy braai set.

I still don't know WTF they were and why they sent it to me. That was about 3 or 4 years ago.

Should have told her to send herself over for a tapping.

Darn it... Never even crossed my mind :D

O well, I'll do the same :p

never ever get these calls,

heard of one guy that gives you the gift, with a padlock attached and a CD with sales talk,

if you listen to the pitch long enough, theyll give you the code to open the gift.....

Was not the normal sales call though. Just wanted to confirm my address as they need to sent me some promotional items. That's it, nothing more nothing less.

I know that some of the life insurance people do this. Basically someone they signed up or cold called gave them your details for the "free stuff"

Likely a crappy braai set.

Maybe all they wanted to know was if anyone was at home?

I was also thinking, hold on a random person calls you with your address and you tell her there is no one home, what is wrong with you?

they rock up with a moving truck and dart guns to take care of the dogs poof house is empty.

mind you that is a pretty good scam. might be too clever for the average South African Criminal.
