Just offered ADSL Line

On Friday i just got a call from Telkom, They offered me a ADSL line.
I am not sure what to go for, continue using Wimax or switch to ADSL 4mb line?

Well ADSL has a lower latency... not sure what speed you get on Wimax, or what you pay for it, so it all depends on that.

adsl is a fair bit better for gaming but as above it depends on what you do with your connection and how much you are willing to fork out, i personally would swith to adsl

Nice, Where in JHB do you live? The thing to keep in mind, you are paying R240/month for the WiMax, with ADSL you have to start paying line rental, R124 and the ADSL 4mb cost of R460 or something. If you don't mind that, go for it.

Depends if you need the extra speed. Do you really want 4Mbps instead of 512Kbps.

I know I do, but from R240 to R600+- is quite a big jump...

Thanx guys for your input, the thing is i do need the speed upgrade, but i am worried about cable theft, coz i really cant cope without internet connection.

I guess its a challenging decision to make (If only i could keep both for backup)

And, have you made a decision yet? Will Telkom not tell you how bad the cable theft is in that area?

As for as cost and cable theft is concerned there is no need to replace Wimax with ADSL.
