This is from the Telkom Wimax FAQ. I think parts of it are supposed to have been internal only, but they sent it to me.
3.Who qualifies for WiMAX? (Target market)
Business and Consumer customers
Will complement the broadband footprint, i.e. available in certain peri-urban areas
Must only be offered to customers not falling in the DSL footprint
9.Can a customer order WiMAX?
If a customer approaches a Telkom outlet or call centre and he wants to order WiMAX, he must be informed that a Do Broadband/ADSL order will be placed and, in case this option is not available – due to no/full DSLAM, non-BB friendly DP, etc. - the possibility of WiMAX will be investigated and feedback given to the customer.
If a customer insists on WiMAX, he must phone 10217.
10.What will lead to a customer getting WiMAX?
A customer applies for Do Broadband/ADSL
The customer doesn’t fall in an ADSL friendly area
The customer does fall in the WiMAX footprint
The customer is offered WiMAX
The order will be cancelled on CBS after provisioning of the WiMAX service.
If for some reason the customer cannot get WiMAX, the order will remain as an ADSL waiter
What really hacks me off is the telkom marketing in the document.
7.Internet Access
The customer will require Internet access from the Internet Service provider of his own choice.
The customer can select the service provider of choice for the Internet account or subscribe to TelkomInternet by dialling 10215.
OR this one, from the question, "What does a customer need for wimax"
A WiMAX supported Internet account, preferably TelkomInternet - obtain directly from 10215
