Whats with the LGA 775 motherboard, insanely expensive power supply and graphics card?

You could've gone for a new Socket 1156 motherboard + Core i5 760 + cheaper HD 5870 + TX650 PSU!

I had a problem with the Skyberg earlier this year. As Pada mentioned rather future proof, LGA 775 is on it's way out or already out.

i couldnt afford a new cpu, and motherboard,
but im future proofing, ie big power supply and nice gfx card and extra ram - becuase enough used to be 2Gb now its 4, so im getting 8...

but im saving for i7 and mobo

Dude, at the risk of bursting your bubble, suggest you cancel the Skyberg. Go for Asus or Gigabyte, I'm not a hardcore gamer or overclocker but Intel doesn't do well in these departments. Your other components are lekker though :)

I'm lazy to search for my posts, I had an issue with my Asus P5 at the beginning of the year. A 'friend' suggested I go for the Skyberg as it's the only mobo to support the Q6600, had problems from the start. Returned the DDR3 memory and the Skyberg, the problem lay in the ****en case :( more specifically the usb ports. The 'friend' apparently tested the Asus and according to him it was stuffed.

i was looking around for them, but they are either ass ugly and for some reason none support DDR3 and im not about to buy new ram :(

I really think you've screwd up big time here:
  1. You don't need 8GB of RAM, unless 4GB was already not enough for you. You could've saved R700
  2. The Vapor-X series cards are very good, but they're overpriced for the framerate that you'll get from them.
Secondly, you've picked a VERY bad time to buy a 5xxx series card, seeing as the AMD 68xx series is launched 22 Oct (this week Friday)!
In terms of performance, the GTX 460 in SLI would give you MUCH better performance for roughly the same price of R4200, but then you'll need a SLI capable m/b.
  3. I really don't know why you went for the HX850 for like R1850, when a CoolerMaster GX550w @ R850 would've sufficed. Here you could've saved another R1000.
  4. If you already had half a decent CPU like the E8400 / Q6600, you could get like R800 by selling it 2nd-hand.
  5. Poor choice for a motherboard, rather spend the R1200 one something else.
If you add those values together, of what you could've spent differently: R700 + R1,000 + R800 + R1,200 = R3,700
You could've EASILY gone for this:
1x Asus P7H57D-V Evo H57 LGA1156 Dual-Channel DDR3 SLI / CrossFireX @ R1600 * Got USB3 + Sata3 6Gbps + SLI/CrossFire @ 8x/8x
1x Intel i5 760 Quad Core 2.8GHz LGA1156 8MB Cache CPU @ R1800
Total: R3400

'You've definitely messed up with that order. Should have done some research beforehand

Socket 775 in late 2010? Ag nee man:)

What do you intend to do that could possibly require 8GBs of RAM?
If it's possible you should cancel and do as Pada suggested.

DUDE!@##$%% is a Sharks supporter, they tend to make costly mistakes. :p

Province!!!!!!!

Im running a Intel i5 750 with HD5770 ATI card... good value for money! Agreed with above post. - Also running a Asus LGA1156 board.

This is what I would have done or even gone i7 9xx and 6GB..

I just don't understand the logic of what you did?

+1 for sure, totally agree.

Shew, I feel bad for the guy now! :(
