I've been having multiple issues with my pc recently. At first I thought they were unrelated. This weekend has lead me to think otherwise though.

Issue 1:

Pc not starting. Well actually it started, just didn't boot up. The fans would come on and spin but go dim then bright then dim then bright.

Temporarily resolved issue by: Switching off at the psu. Booting up after this was fine.

I thought it was my psu or faulty power button.

Issue2:
Ram error. I've got an asus ROG mobo with an lcd. Sometimes when booting the lcd would show a ram error and my pc wouldn't post. Mobo would also make that loud beeping sound like when you try to start up a pc without ram plugged.

Temporarily resolved issue by: putting ram into different slots

Issue 3:
Random blue screens and pc freezing. Again I thought it was ram issue.

Now this weekend it seems as though my mobo has died. It doesn't post. It just switches on. like it normally would, but no beep, and nothing comes up on the screen. I do not think it's the ram as even when unplugging it it made no change. Didn't even give a "memory not plugged in" error or beeping error code.

LCD on mobo just says "cpu int".

So what I'm confirming is that all the above issues are caused by my mobo and not other causes(like my cpu).

My ram is Corsair dominator DDR800 ram.

I have not tried to oc at all.

Processor: 5600+
4 sata hard drives
2 ide optical drives
8800GT 320mb
600watt Zalman psu

Well it could be either mobo or cpu, you would need to test both to be 100% sure if you ask me. sounds like mobo but you will never know unless you test it and the cpu. Have you tested it with only one stick and then another and so on?

I doubt it's ram now. The thing is, do motherboards just die like that? Switch off one day like normal, refuse to boot the next.

Usually when I hear of mobos dying psus are involved. My pc is on a surge protector.

I'm only getting a new mobo in a week or two.

:(

Get your hands on MicroScope PC Diagnostic. I'm sure you know where to look for it.

Run it overnight, especially the memory tests.

It picked up a mem error I could not find with any other utils.

Well as soon as I get my new mobo and my pc posts I'll be sure to do that.

;)

Yea of course mobo's can just die, anything can just die in all honesty, i was watching my dstv two weeks ago and tried to watch the morning news and it was dead even it worked 8 hours prior to that.

I know amd mobo's have a habit of just dying on you :p
