I started receiving messages from VC about the just4u promotions they run and saw that if i load larger amounts such as R200+ i sometimes get an offer for a 1GB data bundle at around R109 instead of the normal price R149.
So of course i took the offer but now i cannot check my remaining data balances! For the first week or so i could just dial *111# go to Balances and then Promotional. Since this weekend Promotional has been removed and can only select Detailed or Summary but of course that part of the system knows nothing about this bundle it shows exactly the same information as the MyVodacom App.
So i decided to phone 111 and was told my remaining data and that i can go through an alternate menu *123# and check how much is left there.
After the call i decided to do so but was met with the following error message but decided to leave it a couple hours as i thought it might be a temporary problem.
I ask with tears in my eyes Vodacom why cant you just treat these promotions the same as the normal bundles that you purchase in other words make the system behave just as if you purchased a normal 30-day data bundle!?
Why do we need to jump through all these hoops to get simple information? i mean i have to already keep my eye on this bundle constantly because i assume it will be like the previous promotional products where you cannot rely on your system to send a simple SMS to say that out of Bundle rates apply now or that your bundle is getting low.
