K-Jam and EDGE

Hey, ppl. Compliments of the Season and all that.

Now, down to business. I have a K-Jam (beautiful) and have been connecting via GPRS. Knowing the specs of this particular technological masterpiece include EDGE, I contacted my SP to find out if I need anything to activate it.
"It hasn't been released yet", I'm told.

I phone 173 to get some direction, only to be told (on the second call - the first one had me on hold for 10 minutes before I gave up in disgust) that the K-Jam doesn't support EDGE.

Nonsense. Does anyone out there with a modicum of intelligence (and preferably a K-Jam) know how to get EDGE working on the K-Jam?

On a side-note, I've downloaded the latest ROM update, and will be installing that tonight. Perhaps that'll help. I'll let you know.

What i suggest is to go to Vodaworld. Leaf Wireless are the importers of iMate in RofSA. In Vodaworld there is an exhibition on the 1st floor, with stalls etc etc. When i was last there Leaf had a stall there. Thats where I saw the KJam 1st time. No the boytjies there were more clued up on what was happening through MTN than Vodacom. Go there and ask them for help.

Leaf could probably mail you a CAB file with the necessary settings, not sure if its on their download page on the site. They would be your best bet, very helpful and clued up.
