Any actually playing (decent, haha) fighting games and if so do you own a fighting stick?

I've redownload some of my titles I have on steam, but it has been a long time since playing them / in the arcades :laugh:

I dig Punch Out on the Wii... it's actually a good workout too lol. Fantastic game. Can be played in an emulator (dolphin), but needs a wii control since it's purely motion based (you can easily pair Wii controls to your PC via bluetooth).

I'm also looking for a decent fighting game or two. The Street fighter series was my go-to at one point but I'm finding them impossible in my old age for some reason LMAO. I have an x-arcade stick.
I've pulled out my hori for PC and currently I'm switching between Killer Instinct/Soul Calibur 6 (arcade relief) and then Tekken7 for skilled based. I see MK11 is on sale, however not sure I'm picking that up. I still have mk10 and rest of them, and Street Fighter 4 Ultra. Haven't touched DoA or KoF at all...

Mortal Kombat 11, Injustice 2 and BlazBlue: CF, and I don't use a stick. Xbox controller is where it is at, however, I believe BlazBlue will be awesome with a stick.

I didn't like Soul Caliber 6 or Dead or Alive 6. I haven't played Killer Instinct. Street Fighter aged way too quickly with games like Guilty Gear competing against it. The thing with MK11 and Injustice 2, NetherRealm Studios make you grind for loving their titles. To get the most out of MK11 and Injustice 2 you need to play it a lot!

Tekken never grew on me.

Currently, I am in love with BlazBlue. It is not for everyone.

I've been playing Soul Calibur since II hit the arcades. It's a mild skill-based fighter being arcadish. I do prefer II out of the lot for reasons. haha. If I have to be really picky then Virtua Fighter was where its at.

 Killer Instinct is just more what I like in Soul Calibur, I mean who can say no to CCCCCCCombo breaker.

I have Street Fighter, because like Mortal Kombat it's just one of those games I grew up with. Sadly as you say it just didn't pull through the eras. MK11, yeah the grind and the obvious pandering still keeps it out of my library.

Dead or alive, well, I don't see it as a bad fighter. In fact, I prefer it over King of Figthers. Finally, Tekken, it pays for itself. I see it as a good skilled based like Virtua Figther was for me. It is not something you just mash yourself into, and you need to grind away to git gud.

I need to play other ones though as I haven't touched BlazBlue or Dragon Ball Z...

I generally don't like games which are over-encumbered with DLC, that is a blowoff for me with many new fighting games.

Dragon Ball Z is okay, but you learn soon that it is the most button spam orientated fighter game ever. This creates a bit of a handicap of skill-based fighters.

I like King of Fighters but haven't played in ages.

I am on the path now of classic, but new, Japanese arcade fighters. Just look at the new and upcoming Guilty Gear

Is this the latest entry for guilty gear?

The current latest, yes. Guilty Gear -STRIVE- is still in closed beta.

I see (another) mean streets is out

Tried it on XBGP and it was ok, not really my scene, but I did play my fair share of double dragon and golden axe

Only fighting game I currently own is Ultra Street Fighter IV. Haven't even tried V yet because I'm waiting for the complete version. Are they still releasing new content for V?

I just want a good fighting game with a truly massive character roster tbh. Is the King of Fighters series any good? Lots of characters there...

afaik Street Fighter is kinda dead.

Yeah it looks like the Champion Edition is the final iteration of SFV
KoF is still on special on steam, but that ends tonight. So might be a good idea if you want to get it:

I'm really enjoying GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR-, will definitely buy more into that IP or similar jfighters...
