Just had to shout out to two incredible South African climbers, John Black and Robby who just made it to the top of K2 this week. Less than 400 people have done that and they are the first 2 South African's. John is an old mate of mine who I did scouts and a lot of hiking with and he has also completed the 7 summits challenge.

The website:

Simply incredible. A pity that two of the team had to abandon their summit attempt. The amount of prep, money, and time to even start an attempt like this is insane.

Amazing stuff!! After watching 14 Peaks on Netflix (HIGHLY recommended for those that haven't watched it) and seeing what they had to endure to climb K2 (widely regarded as the toughest summit in the world), I can only doff my cap to them. I will never ever think of trying to climb those peaks but a bucket list item is definitely to get to base camp at one of them (K2 or Everest) and just savour the experience and the vastness.
