Posting on behalf of my mom:
Is it just me or has anyone else had a really bad experience with Kalahari.com?! I ordered a Gobii cell phone in January.
It arrived faulty with the faults being that it switched itself off all day long, sometimes had Chinese writing on the screen, videos sent were corrupt and the Whatsapp didn't work. I ordered this phone for my business and it was off more than it was on. I reported the faults to Kalahari.com and they said they'd send a courier, which they did.
As I was handing the phone over, it dropped and the screen cracked. Kalahari.com keeps sending the phone back, saying they cannot fix it as I abused it, so the warranty therefore is no longer valid. I told them to ignore the cracked screen - I can live with that or I am happy to pay to fix it - I just want the faults that the phone arrived with to be fixed.
I have spoken to call centre people, supervisors and managers. I even went in to their offices in Cape Town. All promised they would try to assist me in resolving the problem; would call me with feedback (what a joke) only to receive the phone back by courier again (to the wrong address twice!).
So now I sit with a faulty Gobii, having spent R1250 and I have given up all hope of ever receiving satisfactory or any service from Kalahari.com as they are merging with Takealot.com.
Is there anyone out there who can help, or shall I just put this bad experience behind me and move on?
GOOD LUCK to takealot.com!
