Smith shouldnt have even attended the WC, he was a passenger through out, now we wait another 4 years because selectors were stubborn in letting him retain his role and letting him step down gracefully

Well in all fairness to him the team never really helped him bow out gracefully. Sure he was batting poorly but i cannot really say the rest of our team did any better. We threw away the england game, not his fault. We were half way to nz's score with two wickets down and plenty overs and we threw it away. Tough to be a captain when your team throws away winning positions.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Smith's captaincy and I'm not defending his form but he was given a team of inexperienced players who had never played together before. No captain is going to win a game with that team.

What? No captain would win a game with our team? Are you kidding? we had a killer team, and its not like they actually have to play in a way like football in order to win.
We had a great shot, and we didnt lose because of smith's captaincy. We lost because he cant bat, and our lineup fell apart.
The total was nothing exceptional, we just didnt do our jobs

I cannot recall a time that we haven't had an awesome team capable of beating anyone, yet no world cup win. Various captains. I don't think it matters who captains a team that can just implode like we do. As a captain how do you take the blame for losing to england and then nz when you looked set for a win? Bowled well, lowish total to chase. How can you blame smith for our inability to handle pressure? England we needed what 50 runs and had 6 wickets or something stupid and we lost. NZ we needed 112 with 8 wickets in hand.

LOL we are on the same page it is my fault when i quoted you and used YOU when i should have said how can people blame smith Smith cannot be blamed for us imploding.

Yea wasn't blaming his captaincy, was blaming his hogging a space in our batting line up (not his fault but the selectors), the only thing consistent about Smith for a while now has been his lack of form

They could've given the captaincy to pretty much anyone else and had a better opener

45 from 75 balls from our best batsmen? The bubble boy just batted for himself as usual

And if a few of the other top order batsmen had also applied themselves like Kallis, I think we would have been in a better position to chase down the remaining runs.

Kallis is not too blame. Our bowling department, I think, performed. Our batting department did not. Kallis is not the only batsmen.

Yea but if the past is anything to go by we would still have thrown it away. I fully agree if smith was not captain he would not be in the team but the outcome i am not sure would have been any different. Somehow we have developed a fundamental flaw in our entire team. Fight or flight and in general we take the flight option. The scary thing is it happens every single time
