Hi need some help please guys (& gals). I have a 98GB Windows 7 partition on my 200GB drive. When I run the 9.10 installer the only options I have are use full disk or custom. If I select custom it doesn't show my Windows NTFS partition.

Any ideas?

P.S. I'm a linux n:o:ob.

That's quite strange. I haven't installed 9.10 myself yet, but I haven't seen that issue in any of the previous releases.

Have you tried inserting an older Ubuntu disk to check what it says? (Since you say you're a noob you might not have an older disk.)

Can you see the Windows 7 boot partition by any chance?
I'm not quite sure what could be wrong so I am not quite sure what to suggest here to be honest.

I'm also having the problems with the same off the Xubuntu 9.10 LiveCD on an old laptop, even though all the other previous version were able to see the NTFS partions (but they can obviously be seen under GParted in 9.10). I haven't installed Ubuntu 9.10 yet, but I'll see and hope if this isn't the case with on my main PC as well.

make sure you've turned on Network discovery in Windows 7. This does not mean you'll see the whole Windows 7 partition, only the Public Shared folders.
