KDE 4.1 Rocks the desktop!

ive been using it for twodays now first thing i noticed was their lousy taskmanager something went wrong there all the running applications appear in one line the more apps you open the icons become smaller more cramped i'm hating it i prefer kde3.5 also you can not really tweak it it seems like the guys fromm kde lost the plot it looks more like vista

Okay, so I took the plunge and installed KDE 4.1 on my own system.

I figured I came with KDE since KDE 2 so why not stick this one out, can't be worse than the earlier pre KDE 3 versions...

So far it has been mixed feelings brewing in my chest. The guys porting software are not doing a great job, mostly the 3rd party software for KDE is lacking HUGELY from qt4 support which means it is not a clean transition.
You still need qt3, you still need kdelibs-3.5.9, you still need some arb lib that kde 3 uses...

I uninstalled KDE 3 completely (well as completely as some apps are allowing me), so I do think that we have to give some people on the 3rd party bandwagon a bit of stick as well and not just look at the KDE devs for all the shortcomings of KDE 4.

I can live with the odd traces of KDE3 software still on my system, but it would have been so much better if one were able to make a clean transition. And it is not like the devs have not had enough time, KDE 4 (svn) has been around now for almost a year.

Lets see, I'm determined to stick this out, might just switch to the svn repository, but I have a feeling that will break more stuff than fix small annoyances.

I have finally managed to customise most of it and I'm kinda impressed with the appearance except for the task manager bug everything else works Well wait task manager and fonts in terminal they are set to 8 and no matter How many times i change Then and set as default next time i log in they come right back to 8
