Hey guys,

I have a relatively new PC which I bought for gaming.
For some reason my PC bluescreens me quite frequently, especially when playing games.

I have all the latest drivers.
I am running Windows 7 64bit
My specs are the same as the PC here: http://www.evetech.co.za/Intel-Core-i7-Overclcoked-GTX-580-Gaming-PC-Reviewed-NAG-May-2011.aspx

When my PC reboots it gives me an error log, which says:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 124
BCP1: 0000000000000000
BCP2: FFFFFA8007C1A028
BCP3: 00000000BE200000
BCP4: 000000000005110A
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\083011-5272-01.dmp
C:\Users\Ryan\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-8751-0.sysdata.xml

Any ideas what could be causing this?
It's really annoying :(

First thing I would do, personally, is run a stress test on your RAM modules. Also check your temperatures seeing that it often happens when you are stressing your machine (gaming).

South_Bit is correct in saying the first thing to check is your memory. It's most times the easiest thing to diagnose and probably the cheapest to replace if that is the problem. If you have any Ubuntu or similar Linux live CD's lying around you can boot one up and and run a memory test from there.

Thanks for the help guys, will try this pairty thing tonight

Also make sure you seated the CPU cooler properly and that there is thermal paste on it.

Hi. My friend built a pc with similar specs to your's and his pc also gave the same error. It blue screened randomly though not just when he was playing games. He also has win 7 64 bit. Anyways he upgraded his graphics card driver to the latest vesion over the internet. I did a bit of research on the error and there were many different opionions as to what the problem may be from heat issues to faulty CPU or ram. Anyways after a lot of testing etc we decided to uninstall the graphics card driver and installed the driver from the cd that came with the graphics card instead. Problem solved. Had no problems since.

Sounds like RAM. Get win7 to do a check for pairity

Edit: What South_Bit said...

how do I run a stress test and how do I check for pairity? Is there like an option somewhere in win7?

Use memtest86+. Win7 CD can do it too though on boot I think.

A quick google says its a driver issue though.
