I just need my Xbox 360 to play games in my lounge...

I do not want to keep connecting to Live...

I do not want updates...

I just want to play games off my disc....

How do I setup the xbox 360 not to connect to the big wide web and call big brother in Redmont....?

I would however still like the Xbox to connect via Wifi to the home network so I can stream movies from my PC...

Thanking you for your advice in advance...

Morty.....

Other alternative might be to assign an ip address in a totally different subnet to your xbox, and one in the same subnet as additional on your pc.

Other alternative would be to remove the default gateway setting on your xbox. That way it doesn't know the way out.

Both of these untested, off the top of my head

I think if you assign IP's automatically, and put the DNS as your PC ip, it should not connect to the internet,

I think....

enter static ips outside of your dhcp pool and leave out the gateway.

There we go.

However OP stop being a paranoid idiot and just let the thing connect to the internet and update as it needs to. Updates are there for YOUR benefit.

Jesus, to think a few years ago people were complaining because of the lack of ability to update console...now they are complaining bout getting updates.

Or have you got a seerower console and that's the only reason you really want to keep it offline? Guess that's probably the case.

My internet can be slow at times, everytime I boot up the xbox, it seem's to take forever due to it wanting to sign in..... then I get an error message if can't connect to the net... it's more of a time issue that makes me frustrated.... we just want to play games...

Yes, have a live account, not sure why? Oh! yes! I downloaded some demo's.... now I am getting me a jtag box.... not interested in connecting.....

Set up a firewall rule on your router or block it's mac address.

If done properly the console can stay online

I am so glad that you feel so proud of the fact that you are stealing from developers, that you needed to specially point that out.

Well done.
