Hi, I have heard that one needs to make a call with an MTN sim at least once every 90 days or the sim will be taken off of the network, or something to that effect.
Does one have to make a call? What about SMS, or data usage? I often use my phone with an MTN sim on it with my wi-fi/wireless Telkom ADSL connection to stream music, etc. Would this be okay to keep me active?
I don't really like loading airtime on this sim, because the app downloads and what have you end up chomping up the airtime at OOB rates when I'm not actively using wi-fi. In fact I tried to make a call the other day but got cut off my an insufficient airtime message (I only had R5 left). Is there a number I can call that won't use my airtime that will keep me connected?
Or can I at least stop the phone using airtime to download stuff? It's a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, I think.
I tried Pm'ing the MTN rep about all this but there has been no answer.
