The Cape Town and Durban ZAR Fest concerts have been cancelled.

American hip-hop and R&B artists Ciara, Lil Kim and Fat Joe are in South Africa to perform at the events organised by controversial businessman Kenny Kunene.

Kunene said while the Friday concert at Johannesburg's Coca Cola Dome is still going ahead, he has pulled the plug on the two others.

“Before I’m an entertainer I’m a businessman. When we looked at the numbers in Cape Town and Durban as of yesterday end of business, we realised that there’s absolutely no way we are going to reach our target,” he said.

Pathetic businessman at that, the reason why your event is a failure is because your marketing is ****e, a 15 year old kid would be able to sell out a Lil Kim concert.

If it wasnt for BEE would this man amount to anything?
 
What?How did he stuff that up,if he couldn't organise the other 2 events himself why not get someone else to do it?
 
Why does he have a Western name. Is a traditional African name not good enough for him.

those "artists" all suck, why is kenny so keen to import these has beens? if you cant afford proper headliners dont try to shovel mediocrity down peoples throats.

I meant his marketing for the event, everyone knows who kenny is, hardly anyone knew lil kim, timbaland were coming
 
I am not so sure anyone could sell out a concert with lil kim.

I am surprised you would think lil kim is such an easy sell. :eek:.

I have heard of Lil Kim (not her 'music' though), but not the other two. Are they popular enough here in SA?
 
Lil Kim and Fat joe have passed their sell by date. Ciara on the other hand would have sold better in combination with younger boy artists like Ne-Yo or even Chris Brown. Timberland - not much of a solo artist. :D

Almost all black people born during apartheid have English names. Whether it was forced upon them at birth by home affairs staff or given to them by their parents because they knew "die bass" wouldn't bother to adress them by an African name anyway and would make something up. Many black people born in the late 80s or later don't have English names.

I had a very good maths teacher called Mr September(coloured) who told us he was part of a gang (always lectured us about it)and you knew it was true because of the way he would address the wanabe 'gangsters' in the class.He was an inspiration.

a 15 year doesn't even know who she is. S**t I used to listen to her and can't think of any of her songs atm.
