Anyone else enjoying this game as much as me?

It took me a long time to get used to the controls but last night I grasped it.

I was able to set up a rocket and successfully did a round trip to Minmus, which was exciting, and gained a lot of science points from it.

So...Where should I head to next?

Heard a lot about the game, but last I checked it was still "early access" on steam. I thought I'd wait for the proper release.

This is one early access game to get into.
It might be overwhelming at 1st, thinking about it, it is still overwhelming after 32 hours spend in game.

I enjoyed it very much, might start it up again and try the career mode, haven't really spend time in it since it was released.

I downloaded the games via Torrentz but am definitely buying it this afternoon. Even though it is early access, there is still a ton that you can do and it is very fun to play. And educational (rocket science and all).

Where have your travels taken you? I've only been playing career mode as the sandbox was way too overwhelming for me. Too many parts to choose from and I could sense my spaceship/rocket saying "PLEASE KILL ME".

I will post some images of my crafts and where I have traveled to with them.

Truthfully? Not that far.
I got one crew stranded on the Mun (ran out of juice), and about 126 new craters on the Mun to show for failed landings.
Then there are about 6 or 7 ships just orbiting the Sun, also failed attempts to return to Kerbin from the Mun.

I started the Career mode when it came out, and only launched about 2 ships, before I stopped playing Kerbals.

Next on my list then. Unfortunatly I started playing minecraft for the first time this weekend and it got me hooked. Soon as my urge to break stone subsides I'll give Kerbal a try.

You'll be stuck on minecraft for a while hehe. If you get bored of the vanilla, download the technic launcher. Lots of fun mods on there. Even better if you have friends to play with.

So last night I built myself a fancy new rocket and flew to the moon. I got there fine but my landing skills were off as the gravity was a bit stronger than on Minmus. My lander tipped over and well...mission over. I thought I would go to Minmus again and did so successfully. Collected a lot of data to fly back home. Only issue is...I didn't have enough fuel for the return trip so that poor kerbal is orbiting his poor ship forever.

Finally bought the game yesterday. Restarting my campaign was not easy. Going back to the mediocre rocket equipment was a huge task and I am struggling to even get in to orbit now.

Still awesome! Will post pictures of my ships as soon as they are in great working order.

This.... this is my problem atm.
I have quite mastered the art of landing on the Mun without to many hassles (albeit, there are a whole lot of craters to show my practicing), I still haven't really been able to build a ship with enough juice to get my blokes back home.
So I got a whole population of Kerbals on the Mun, but they aint coming back..... yet.

I've tried landing on the Mun once, that was before I knew that F5 was quicksave. Sigh...

My lander consists of the Pod with a large fuel container and the small engine. Good practice for me is, if I reach my destination without using any of the fuel in the lander then I'm good. Otherwise I need to restart from assembly and try again. It's a lot of trial and error but you do get used to all the components.

KSP. The memories.

I've done the Mun and I've done Minmus and then I built a refuelling station in a low orbit (150km) around Kerbin. The station had a ton of parts on it that when it loaded my FPS would crash from 30 - 60 to 0 - 1. Took me ages to assemble it though as I used that huge orange fuel tank as the storage tank. This meant that I had to provide enough thrust to lift it plus the lifter itself. I crashed - many times. I eventually landed up using 7 Rockomax Mainsail engines with the asparagus way of jettisoning the spent fuel canisters.

The idea behind this was that I'd use the refuelling station to get my craft(s) out into the solar system.

This ship that I built is very effective. I'll give part names if you guys want. Used properly it can travel to both moons with ease.

It is extremely stable with SAS. And with the middle engine you can manouver very easily

This ship was extremely effective for sending up probes. Haven't tried with a lander yet. The outside rocket siphons fuel to the middle one.

What is the best way to gain science on missions? I've been to Mun and Minmus but there are still a lot of Tiers I need to unlock before I can get to the Nuclear engines so that I can travel to other planets.

How did you guys get enough science points to travel to other planets?
