With load shedding hitting our power sockets again, I'm guessing a lot of people are looking at various UPS options. I notice most UPSs have kettle-plug outputs. Would it be feasible to attach a kettle-plug to a standard multiplug in order to power our ADSL modem and wireless routers via the UPS? We have a generator in the office, we just need something that'll keep the server and routers going while we switch to generator.

That is what i use when i go travelling anywhere. I have a standard 5-way multilug with 2 pin sockets and instead of a plug, i have the male Kettle plug. So where ever i go, all i need is the standard kettle plug and i can power all my devices with the 1 multiplug.

it works though just don't put too many devices on the multiplug might be too much for the UPS to handle
