Restart computer or Put the keyboard into a different port if its USB and wait like a minute.

In the immortal words of Roy from The I.T Crowd "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" "Is it plugged in?"

restart and hold in CMD+p+r. It will boot again

Otherwise. Plug in a external keyboard and see what happens

Friend had the same problem with his Mac. The battery in the bluetooth keyboard was flat. He had no idea (he said) there was one inside. This a guy with a Masters in Chemical Engineering

Any bluetooth keyboards/trackpads around?

Had it happen that my keyboard was completely unresponsive on my MPB - turns out the BT trackpad in my laptop bag, was being pressed up/triggered >> "overrode" my inputs on the actual laptop... Outside chance, but can happen.

Also posted a thread many moons ago about how the keyboard on my wife's iPhone would just disappear in Messages/Whatsapp -- took plenty of head-scratching to realise it was picking up the BT keyboard in the study!

Solved....she just switched it on when getting home now and all is well.
Thanks
