Keyloggers

Windows Defender won't work as it uses DCS technology...

(DCS = Doesn't Catch Sh*t)

hey windows defender is quite good hey. i've read a lot about it on the net about people who don't like Microsoft products at all and they said it's good. the only down side is that apparently it's resource-intensive.

Well all i can say is after a full windows defender scan i can still pick up a lot of spy/mal ware in my machine with spybot. Well last time i used it anyway (a good couple of months ago)

If I'm not mistaken the software using heuristic principles of work is able to catch even a custom built keylogger.
Yes, but unfortunately the heuristics are still fairly stupid. If the code is even slightly modified with a few random NOPs then it won't catch it anymore.

Huh? Link M$ AV/Spyware products are failing test left right and center. Same with the firewall.

System Safety Monitor monitors apps which try to achieve low level keyboard access.
You can pick up unknown keyloggers that way. SSM is a HIPS system (Host Intrusion Protection System) something you'd use in addition to a Firewall, AV scanner and
an anti-malware/spyware solution.

Too bad all the Vista issues haven't been sorted out ;)
