I'm having problems with my new 24 cam (16 analogue, 8 digital) KGuard camera system and the KviewPro app.

I could get the app to connect initially and it does intermittently (after a DVR/router restart for example) but mainly it can't connect. It can say connected and show no picture or it says Connection Failed (multiple devices). Can view it fine over local LAN with browser. Router is a Netgear DGN2200, and uPnP is enabled. Anyone had same issue or ideas to fix?

Here my settings on the DVR:

How are you connecting to the device remotely, through their p2p cloud service, DDNS, direct IP?

If DDNS, disable upnp on the DVR and try again.

I find that performing a factory default works wonders on these Chinese units if you're still having issues.

The KviewPro app.
That sounds like a p2p connection if there's a barcode involved.

There may be server side issues.

The DVR should support a variety of DDNS providers, try setting that up along with the appropriate port forwarding on the router and see what happens?

Update the firmware on the DVR, worked for a few seconds but when trying again it fails to connect now.

So all DDNS providers equal? What info do I need to have at hand?

For port forwarding, which of the below does one choose and what info do I need ready?

And then for the app, do I change Device ID to IP/DOMAIN under login type?

I think the issue is with the DVR unit and not networking. Does the same with my Telkom LTE router. App connects once shortly after a restart of DVR and then not ever again.

So someone at Esquire tested with me and was unable to also connect reliably using the app, while other units work fine. So on the 5th of December the unit was booked in as "LAN port not working (intermittent)". Someone else then tested it off course and they think the LAN port is working fine. Which it is. One can use a browser to view it for many hours without fault. They don't call me or anything for 16 days?!

Taking their sweet time to sort this issue out.

I think I want to go there tomorrow and be a pain in someones ass. Maybe change the fault description but I don't know how to put it better? Would "firmware faulty" be a better fault description to get it into their heads so that they just swap it out?

Either they need to replace the PVR unit or just replace the main board and give me something so I can just install the cameras and be more secure, we had a break in and an armed robbery in the area yesterday.

I was also thinking of recommending these KGuard units since my Easylink PVR works so well (and as CPF block leader I could get asked about such things), but if the inability to fix issues one might have with the CCTV systems is like this I don't know about that, would need to look somewhere else than Esquire I guess, if they can't sort it out soon.

So they say I must come collect it cause the app works on their phones... I sure hope it does work 100% and it's not a question of working the first time and that they didn't test it again 10 minutes later...

I also seem to have an issue. I have a 12 cam DVR. Also connecting with the p2p method.
Getting annoyed with it.
Should it help to maybe supply a fixed IP or leave it as DHCP supplied?

How do you view over local LAN? Just by entering the IP address? Or is there a software?

Just open browser of choice and enter the IP (and the HTTP port if you have changed it from 80, so 192.168.0.101:81 for example) and install the plug in it asks you to install and then try to access it again.

I use FireFox with tabs, one for my 8 port DVR and one for my 16 port DVR.

Ok. So did you allocate a fixed IP and changed the http port to 81?
Is the fixed IP set to be inside or outside the DHCP range?

Port is changed so I can use DDNS with my 2 separate DVRs yes.

It's within the DHCP range but since the DHCP assigns the IPs as close to 1 as it can, the highest dynamic IP of any current connected device is .9, it is not a problem

I use a static ip on mine. Dhcp managed. None of the p2p stuff.
