I was coming from work today and went into a kia dealer to take a look at what's on the floor. i took a 2.0 kia pro ceed sport for a test drive and man i have to tell you i was pleasantly surprise. it comes with lots and lots of extras and it has plenty of power and ride quality and handling is also very good.

The new cerato koup is also good looking, i have seen pictures before of these two cars before but i have to say the pic doesn't do them justice.

The koup = R210 000 and the Pro Ceed = R284 000(incl all extras)

I considered buying the Cerato Koup but it came too late.. I really like it in red. Awesome value compared to other cars in this segment!

Yeah the Koup is causing quite a stir. Not often a car comes along that's significantly cheaper than it's rivals. Hopefully it's a huge success and spurs on other manufactures to do the same. Get a real competitive price war going.

hahahahah, more than likely when it becomes popular there will be a significant price increase on it...
sad really

Approximately how long would it take to remove the KIA branding?

Like all things in SA, it becomes popular there is a massive price increase. Look at Hyundai, the I10 on release was roughly R80k about two years ago when my mom bought one, now it is R99k, I was browsing through a Car magazine from February 2008 and the prices of cars have risen quite a lot since then.

Kia is value for money...maybe not the best image/brand, but does what is was designed to do,at a reasonable cost. You also won't win any races. And Kia is owned by Hyundai, so servicing and reliability shouldn't be a problem.
The Picanto is my usual choice when travelling and needing car hire. Awesome features for the price. And way better than the chinese nonsense on our roads.
