Been a rain customer since 2018 and suddenly I have no Internet connection. A week after submitting an issue, I am contacted by rain (because I messaged the rep here on myBB) and they tell me pay as you use is discontinued. My aunts who started using pay as you use last year have also been kicked off.

Can they really just kick me off without even warning? This is bull. They're now telling me I have to pay the R250pm package.

I did yesterday. This is issue 6027424. I am speaking with customer service via email and they tell me pay as you use is no longer available. I am forced to pay the R250 per month option without warning.

How else do you expect them to get valued (even more) in such a short span of time, if not for their competitive behaviour ?

Did they assist you with this?

Nope. Pay as you use is discontinued. Have to pay for the fixed monthly package now. I won't be using rain anymore.
I guess let me cancel my sim also.
I was hoping they had changed their position on this.

Absolute bull. I used to pay like R50 a month and they just decide to cancel it without warning. The cheapest package they have now is R250 per month, a 400% increase.

Mine still works. Posting this from rain R50/gig.
But I wouldn't be surprised if they do cancel it.

interesting, i just tested my rain prepaid sim while it is on "rain" it has no data connection at all. i live out of coverage but just down the road there is so wanted to test if it still worked.
