Killer taxi driver gets bail - R1000

Quite sad that this man will now get into another taxi after getting bail.
There should be a law that denies bail to those accused of a crime where another human being's life was in danger or could be as a result of the accused crime.
Imagine how bad it would be if he now gets back into a taxi and kills another alleged person.
Rather be proactive than reactive methinks.

on the other hand, yes he was irresponsible but at least his gonna try and make a living instead of being unemployed and most probably killing more.

sure be in jail and cost us more money ?..... this guy is guilty of manslaughter.. murderer or not it is for the law to decide not us.

yes, but I cannot blame to taxi driver for taking the sentence the law gave to him, I do blame him for driving like a idiot yes, but to think about it the last time I was in a accident everything happen so damm fast.

Yeah that is true, can not fault him for the courts ruling/bail condition. But according to eye witnesses he hooted once and then drove over her!!! Like I said 1)remove limbs 2) Cover in honey 3) Place ontop of an anthill.

I cant believe one can get away with murder!!!! It still shocks me every time I hear them getting out on bail.

By making a living he killed someone so if we follow what you say he will kill another person by making a living.
Yes lets get all the criminals to go free and start working as taxi drivers to save us money.

It's easy to loose sight of ones anger with cases like these. R1000 bail might seem like the guy is getting away with murder, but infact he is not getting away with anything. If the police verified all his details and he has a valid ID and home adress then R1000 bail is warranted.
If you don't agree with this bail decision it is understandable. Heck if it was my daughter I would've been outraged. Thing is, there are cases where someone drives like a d1ck and causes an accident in which people die. Most accidents happen because one person drives in an unfavorable manner. But the fact remains that that is why it is Culpable Homicide and not Murder. The guy can be held responsible for the persons death, but it does not mean that he intended to kill her. He obviously could have foreseen that it might happen but that is for the court to decide.
If one of your family members causes an accident and someone dies, are you also going to urge the judge to keep him in jail and label him as a murderer?
I know that there are tensions with most taxi drivers we come across drive like idiots, but come-on, just because a guy is released on bail doesn't mean he is forgiven or excused. Even normal arrests are "only" to insure someones presence in court. The arrest in itself is not to punish the person.
Look I'm not saying that we should go easy on the guy. I hope he gets what he's got coming for driving like an idiot and causing a tragedy!! But when people gather round and start acting like mobs I can't help imagining farmers with pitchforks. It reminds me of Sheldean Human's murderer's court case where the mob standing outside the court screaming like animals and saying stuff like "give him to us, give him to us!!". Why? So you could kill him with your bare hands like a caveman?

Let's face it, it's not like this guy is a flight risk. He'd have to be exceedingly lucky to jump bail successfully with the entire country's media after him.
People who advocate mob justice are a greater threat to the rule of law than this guy on his own.
He'll get his day in court, and he will be called to account for his actions. I doubt he'll be able to afford a grade A advocate, so if anything the legal system is biased against him.

If the father of the deceased had any sort of love for his daughter he'll be making his own arrangements to sort this guy out.Eye for an eye, if it were me I'd drive him over with my car, reverse, and do it again.
