Ok, our guild seems to be suffering on this one a bit, in TOC 25.

Has your guild downed the bug in TOC 25? What was your strat? How did you do it?

We tried about 15 different methods last night.. loads of wipes. I was the designated frost bubble popper due to my low DPS :D

We're also stuck on him on 25. Damn frustrating if you 1-shot all the bosses up to him and spend the rest of the night wiping on a overgrown dung beetle.

lol this one is a meanie! after you left we managed to get his hp down to about 10m. :erm: but some imba chaps joined in after a few wipes. Was a fun yet costly experience. :D

Whats killing your raid though ?

We are still wiping on the heroic version of this encounter but the normal mode is pretty easy once the tactics are followed.

Most guilds that suffer here usually die from :

Bad Kiting during the submerged phase. Having ice patches spread out accross the room helps a lot. We usually drop one patch at the door entrance and the first person to get targeted during kiting phase, runs to the door patch. If your kiters are suffering, let your pala's bubble them when they run to the ice patches. The bubble WILL save the kiters from sure death.

Or the final phase when your raid gets infected with the healing swarm thing. The final part of the encounter is really a test on the healers. They have to keep the raid's HP levels low (sub 30 %) ... the higher your raiders HP levels are, the more he heals... the more he heals the harder you have to nuke.

I got in trouble before this boss. When we killed the twins I told the new Dk recruit he needs to use path of frost :p then we all fell down...

I think our guild may have a few too many undergeared DPS for this fight. In a week or two we should be able to do it though.

It's not much a gear check. If you have around 219 - 226 ilvl gear you'll be fine.

Few things that might help:

Always tank the adds on ice patches and try to ensure you never have more than 2 adds up at a time.

For added help move single adds into melee range near Anub so melee can cleave em while ranged burst them down.

During Locust Swarm make sure your healers are not keeping people topped. People should hover around the 30% range to limit Anub's healing. The exception to this is of course the tanks. If your whole raid, 25man I assume, is topped the HPS on Anub will be pretty extreme as Locust Swarm heals based off your raid members % hp. It basically drains 10% of each raid members current HP and heals Anub in a 1:1 ratio. If you think about this logically having 25 people at around 22k HP each this will equate to 25 * 2200 or 55 000HPS which is pretty impossible to DPS through. You can also try save bloodlust for the last 30% to burn through this phase.

Aside from that on normal mode he's pretty easy, heroic however...

25Normal and even 10 Heroic is a cakewalk compared to 25 Heroic, what phases are you dying and who dies first?

25man is really easy...We have it on farm. 25man heroic however is damn hard.

Like PsyWulf asked, which phase are you failing? :p

We just killed him in 10 man heroic last nite .. was great fun, even got the extra chest :)
Just for the record it was damn hard.
We had 2 healers 2 tanks and 6 dps.

Second phase. Not entirely sure why we are dying but we will give it a go again tonight.

Hmmm if its second phase its down to 2 possible things.

1 - bad kiters... as mentioned in my post... use pala's
2 - dps guys going postal on the bugs getting bitten like crazy and getting the poison debuff stacked, eventually leading to certain death due to the healers not being able to keep the guys healed up.

Our pugs are farming it already :P

Use an addon like skada or recount and check why people are dying. Kiting is the easy part

Right here is how we do it

Have 3 tanks for 25man (you can do it with 2 if you have a uber block/avoidance geared tank) but 3 is easier.

1 tanks boss 2 picks up 1 add each when the spawn from the side. ranged put down frost patches and close too the boss if possible. Add tanks drag 1st set off adds too anub. Dsp those down (cleaving etc for melees) 2nd bunch of adds take them away from anub until he submerges. (still on frost patches)

Kill these adds. Make sure that who ever is kiting the spikes does not do it towards where ur off tanks are tanking those adds. Kill the adds. Ranged take out the scarabs.

Anub pops back up and tank positions him on a patch so that add tanks can move the adds there again for melee too helps kill them off.

Rinse and repeat until hes at 30% hp. Now its a healer test. Everyone should be kept quite low and tank should be spam healed ofc. Imba nuke the boss pop hero etc for this phase.

Good luck ;)

agreed, that is all there is too it. If you are using 2 tanks, use three.

If you are wiping to enrage, get better dps

If your healers can't keep the tanks up get better healers :)

We are starting to work on Anub in ToGC10 (we are a 10 man guild). Took 1 look at him on Sunday and the kiting was insane. Going to take a some practice.

As for healing on this fight, Disc Priests work the best imo. There is not a lot of damage in phases 1 and 2.

The 10 man version is great fun :)

25 heroic is pretty hard with regards to kiting. You have very limited ice patches and you need to stretch the kiting phase out as long as possible.

We consistantly get through to the final phase ... but hell the healing swarm part on 25 heroic is nasty. I honestly /salute healers on that fight. Pushes them to the limit with timing.
